(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 10-day injured list with right knee inflammation, they announced Thursday evening before hosting the Reds at Wrigley Field.

The move is retroactive to Monday. Heyward hasn’t played since last Friday.
In other moves, Chicago selected outfielder Narciso Crook from Triple-A Iowa and transferred outfielder Michael Hermosillo to the 60-day injured list.
Heyward is having an abysmal season, hitting .204 with one homer, 10 RBIs and a .556 OPS in 48 games.
Crook, 26, will make his MLB debut whenever he’s tabbed to play. He was hitting .268 with nine homers, 27 RBIs, 11 steals and an .885 OPS in 47 games at Triple-A this season. He signed with the Cubs on a minor league deal last November after spending eight seasons in the Reds organization.
