Cubs right-hander Caleb Kilian is expected to be sidelined until around midseason with a teres major strain in his right shoulder, Andy Martinez of the Marquee Sports Network reported Thursday.
Kilian, 26, has been with the Cubs since 2021, when he was acquired from the Giants in a trade that sent infielder Kris Bryant to San Francisco. He has struggled over six appearances in the big leuages, allowing 23 earned runs over 16 2/3 innings of work.
Kilian allowed 10 earned runs in three appearances (5 1/3 innings) last season.
