(670 The Score) Score morning host Mike Mulligan had one simple question as this week got started.
“What happened to the Cubs, man?” Mulligan said. “What happened to this team?”
That’s a familiar refrain for a Cubs team that suffered a familiar result over the weekend – a series loss. This time, it came in the form of the sloppy and offensively challenged Cubs losing two of three games to the NL Central-leading Brewers. Chicago now trails Milwaukee by 11.5 games in the division and is five games back of the final wild-card spot in the National League.
After entering the season with playoff hopes, the Cubs are instead 39-46 and are the third-worst team in the NL.
“It was a hugely disappointing weekend,” Mulligan said.
“Every aspect has been disappointing,” co-host David Haugh said.
