(670 The Score) The White Sox on Wednesday activated ace Lucas Giolito from the COVID-related injured list. He’ll start when the White Sox visit the Royals on Wednesday evening.
Giolito had been placed on the injured list last Friday. Giolito is 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in five starts this season.
In other moves, the White Sox optioned right-hander Davis Martin to Triple-A Charlotte and transferred right-hander Lance Lynn to the 60-day injured list.
Martin threw five innings of one-run ball in his MLB debut Tuesday evening, when the White Sox lost 2-1 to the Royals.
Lynn hasn’t pitched this season due to a torn tendon in his right knee. He’ll be eligible to be reinstated on June 6. General manager Rick Hahn previously indicated Lynn would return sometime in the first half of June.
