The staff features five individuals who are new to the White Sox organization in bench coach Charlie Montoyo, hitting coach Jose Castro, third-base coach Eddie Rodriguez, major league field coordinator Mike Tosar and senior director of sports performance Geoff Head.

Assistant hitting coach Chris Johnson is new to the White Sox’s big league club after previously working as the hitting coach at Triple-A Charlotte. Pitching coach Ethan Katz, bullpen coach Curt Hasler and first-base coach Daryl Boston will return to the same roles they held in 2022 for the club.

Montoyo joins the White Sox after serving as the Blue Jays’ manager for the past four seasons. He was fired in the middle of the 2022 season.

Castro was previously the Braves’ assistant hitting coach for the past eight seasons and was on staff as Atlanta won the 2021 World Series.

Rodriguez and Tosar join Grifol’s staff after working with him in the Royals organization. Rodriguez was Kansas City’s minor league field coordinator for the past three seasons, while Tosar was a special assignment hitting coach in the organization for the past three years.

Head was most recently the Reds’ senior director of health and performance for the past three seasons.
