(670 The Score) The White Sox sure know how to commemorate a special night. In the aftermath of left-hander Carlos Rodon throwing the 20th no-hitter in franchise history in an 8-0 win against the Indians on Wednesday, the organization has plans in place to dig up home plate and gift it to catcher Zack Collins, who was Rodon's battery mate for the historic evening.

“So I kept my catcher’s gear, I kept my jersey, didn’t even wash it,” Collins said on the Bernstein & Rahimi Show on Thursday of the memorabilia he'll retain. “And then I’m pretty sure they’re digging out home plate after today’s game and I’m going to keep that. It’s pretty cool.

“I’ll probably put it in like a box or some type of frame and put it up somewhere in my house. It’ll be something I’ll never forget.”

Just as it was a night to remember forever for Rodon, it was an experience that Collins will forever cherish as well.

“It means a ton,” Collins said. “It has to be one of the best things I’ve ever done behind the plate, to be a part of that. Seeing that last year (with James) McCann and (Lucas) Giolito do that (achieve a no-hitter), it was one thing that I always dreamed of. For that to happen last night was pretty incredible. There’s really no words that can explain it.”
