(670 The Score) The White Sox expect to get ace Lance Lynn back in early June, general manager Rick Hahn said Monday, according to multiple reports.
Lynn hasn't pitched in the regular season yet after undergoing surgery in early April to repair a tear in a tendon by his right knee. Manager Tony La Russa had previously indicated that Lynn could be back in late May, but early June is the more realistic scenario, Hahn told reporters.
Lynn, 34, is coming off a terrific season in which he earned All-Star honors and finished third in the American League Cy Young race. He went 11-6 with a 2.69 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 157 innings across 28 starts.
After a few early struggles, the White Sox's pitching staff has been doing excellent work lately. Chicago's starters have a 3.47 ERA, which ranks 10th in MLB.
