(670 The Score) The final leg of the Triple Crown for horse racing takes place Saturday evening in New York at the Belmont Stakes.
On Friday morning, NBC Sports analyst Eddie Olcyzk joined the Mully & Haugh Show to share his picks for the Belmont Stakes, which included a longshot that he believes is capable of winning.
“I’m going to step outside the box and I’m going to put my old plums on the table here and I’m going to go with the No. 7 horse, Hit Show,” Olczyk said. “Made a big middle move in the Kentucky Derby, flattened out. I think the jockey Manny Franco got a little excited. This horse is bred to run the mile-and-a-half. I think he might get one of those perfect stalking positions.
“I’m going to make all of my plays around the No. 7, Hit Show. I’m going to use the favorite, the No. 6, Forte. I’m going to use the No. 8, Angel of Empire, who ran third in the Kentucky Derby. … And also Tapit Trice, the No. 2 horse.”
