(670 The Score) With MLB Opening Day just one week away, Forbes has released its list of franchise values for each of the league’s 30 teams.
The Cubs are worth an estimated $4.1 billion, the fourth-most of any team in MLB and up 8% from 2022, according to Forbes. They trail only the Yankees, Dodgers and Red Sox in terms of franchise value. The Yankees are valued at an MLB-high $7.1 billion.
The White Sox were valued at $2.05 billion, the 15th-most in MLB and a figure that's up 16% from last year. That's the highest valuation of any team in the AL Central.
Forbes’ annual valuations come as Diamond Sports Group, which holds broadcasting rights for 14 of MLB’s 30 teams, has declared bankruptcy ahead of the 2023 season.
MLB Opening Day is scheduled for March 30. The Cubs host the Brewers at Wrigley Field, while the White Sox visit the defending World Series champion Astros in Houston.
