Jordan Schultz on his verbal altercation with Ian Rapoport: 'I didn’t appreciate the way he was talking about me'

(670 The Score) More details continue to emerge about the recent verbal altercation between two of the NFL’s biggest newsbreakers.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports exchanged words at a Starbucks at the NFL Combine last week in Indianapolis in a subplot that stole headlines at the event. Schultz initiated the conversation that turned heated, and it eventually led to NFL security getting involved at Rapoport’s request, according to reports.

Neither side has shared full details on the source of the frustration, but at least part of the disagreement stemmed from Schultz’s reporting that Raiders minority owner Tom Brady seriously recruited Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to Las Vegas via a trade. Rapoport dismissed that report on X, saying a meeting between the sides was unplanned.

In an interview with Leila Rahimi on 670 The Score on Monday evening, Schultz addressed his confrontation with Rapoport. A photo of it surfaced on Awful Announcing recently in which Schultz is on the verge of a smirk.

“What happened between Ian and I probably had been brewing for quite some time,” Schultz said. “I just felt like I needed to say what I said and make it clear that I didn’t appreciate the way he was talking about me. I felt I did that. Obviously, you saw the photo. I don’t think the photo was particularly intimidating. Regardless of how you view it, I just felt like it was an important thing to say, important to get off my chest. I thought I did it. Hopefully we can move forward.”
