(AUDACY) The American League wild-card game Tuesday featured familiar faces for Chicago Cubs fans.

Former Cubs outfielder Kyle Schwarber and former first baseman Anthony Rizzo were pitted against each other, and both homered for their respective teams. In the end, it was Schwarber who came out on top in the Red Sox’s 6-2 win over Rizzo’s Yankees.

Of course, that wasn't the first time these two sluggers have homered in the same postseason game. Schwarber and Rizzo did it as teammates during Game 4 of the 2015 National League Division Series when the Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4, to clinch a trip to the NL Championship Series.

The fact they both homered again, in the same game as opponents, was actually quite a rare feat.

It was just the second time in MLB history that two teammates who homered in a playoff game together did so in the same game while playing for different teams later.

The only other time was when Carlos Ruiz and Jayson Werth did it during Game 3 of the 2016 NLDS between the Nationals and Dodgers.

Ruiz and Werth previously homered as teammates with the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the 2009 World Series against the New York Yankees.

There could be more postseason moments for former Cubs, as Kris Bryant was traded in late July to the NL West champion San Francisco Giants -- although it would require the Giants and Red Sox meeting in the World Series for a reunion with Schwarber.
