Browns waive CB Robert Jackson

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cornerback Robert Jackson was waived by the Browns Thursday.

Jackson saw limited snaps in 10 games during the regular season where he was credited with six tackles and a pass defensed.

Jackson, who was pressed into service and started the regular season finale, started the Wild Card game in Pittsburgh where he made seven tackles and assisted on an eighth. He also surrendered a 29-yard touchdown to Steelers receiver Chase Claypool in the fourth quarter.

The Browns originally added Jackson, signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and a member of Houston’s practice squad, to their practice squad in October 2018. Jackson was activated from the practice squad in Week 3 of the 2019 season by Cleveland. He was placed on injured reserve in December.

He was placed on the practice squad two weeks into the 2020 season and activated a month later.

Earlier this week the team waived offensive guard Malcolm Pridgeon, who opted out of the 2020 season.
