Grizz Pacers
Nelson Chenault/USA Today

Who is Bruno Caboclo?  He's the newest Grizzlies player, on the team with a 10-day contract, and maybe he's the spark the Grizzlies needed? Wink. Wink. Maybe. The Grizzlies certainly needed him Saturday night (1/26) with Garrett Temple nursing a shoulder injury that will keep him out for 1-2 weeks for Memphis. But when you combined Caboclo's 11 points and 5 rebounds with a very nice effort from the Grizzlies core of Mike Conley (double-double 22 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists), Marc Gasol (18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists), Justin Holiday (16 points, 4 rebounds) and Jeron Jackson Jr. (20 points, 6 rebounds) you finally get a Grizzlies win. Final: Memphis Grizzlies 106 Indiana Pacers 103

The Grizzlies certainly earned it against a solid Indiana team that commited 18 turnovers. The Pacers fought without Victor Oladipo. But the Grizzlies didn't have Omri Casspi, Dillon Brooks or Kyle Anderson in addition to the loss of Temple.

Still the loss is a stop-gap in what has been a bizarre season. It was certainly necessary to see Mike Conley and Marc Gasol hugging mid-court on their way to the win. But the trade rumor mill fires up again on the two. But more wins certainly can help.
