The Memphis Tigers destroyed the Commonwealth Bank Giants in an exhibition game during their Bahamas summer trip 114-83 Wednesday evening (8/14) at the Baha Mar Resort. Without James Wiseman (shoulder/precaution) and Precious Achiuwa (visa issues/travel) the Tigers basketball team started slow in the 1st quarter (quarters due to international rules) but ignited for the next three quarters.
Five Tiger players scored in double-figures. Sophomore transfer Lance Thomas finished with 19 points and eight rebounds and clearly looked like a captain/leader the Tigers want based on what 1,000's of Memphians witnessed on Facebook live and Periscope feeds from locals like Jimmy Davenport launched via cell phone. Lester Quinones had the shooting stroke going 4-of-6 on 3-pointers finishing with 14 points. Tyler Harris used some inefficient volume shooting to score 13 points, but had a team-leading six assists.
