Memphis was ranked #17 in the final College Football Playoff Top 25 Poll. Memphis was #15 in the final AP/Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

After winning the American Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday (12/7) Memphis was awarded the Group of 5 Cotton Bowl bid and will play Penn State (#13 in the AP Poll/#10 in CFB Playoff final poll).
