It was a wild Saturday in college football. The headline in Memphis was Mike Norvell and the Memphis Tigers using a newly revamped defensive package with new Defensive Coordinator, Adam Fuller, to hold Ole Miss to just 10 points. The Memphis Tigers beat the Rebels 15-10.

92.9's Gary Parrish tweeted this after the game:

FINAL: Memphis 15, Ole Miss 10.If you’re an Ole Miss fan who refers to Memphis as Tiger High, perhaps you should encourage your administration to get a home-and-home series with Tiger Middle. Might be time to move down a level. https://t.co/fYklBj8Zay

The next piece to fall was in Knoxville for the SEC as Tennessee looked abysmal against Georgia State.  Former Center Hill standout Dan Ellington threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third score. Georgia State was a 25-point underdog heading into Knoxville against the Tennessee Volunteers.

The jokes were flying out of Memphis following the Vols defeat, including this tweet from 92.9's Brad Carson:

You thought Hugh Freeze coaching from a hospital bed is wild? Wait till next week when Phil Fulmer is coaching from the Tennessee sideline.

Alabama 42 Duke 3

Arkansas 20 Portland State 13

Texas A&M 41 Texas State 7

Mississippi State 38 Louisiana 28

Kentucky 38 Toledo 24

North Carolina 24 South Carolina 20

Georgia 30 Vanderbilt 6
