Sure, a win for Memphis against the #1 seeded Houston Cougars in the American Athletic Conference Tournament at FedExForum on Saturday (3/16) would have been special, even if it meant a loss on Sunday. But the loss came on Saturday when Memphis likely didn't have it's best game, and neither did Houston. Final: Houston 61 Memphis 58
The #11 Houston Cougars will now advance to the AAC final on Sunday (3/17) at FedExForum and play against #24 Cincinnati at 2:15 p.m. on ESPN.
For the Memphis Tigers, it's a likely first round home game in the National Invitational Tournament. (Update: Memphis vs. SDSU Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at FedExForum in the 2019 NIT)
