Memphis Athletic Director Tom Bowen resigned from the University of Memphis on May 14th. The Daily Memphian decided to write a letter of inquiry regarding the resignation. The Daily Memphian inquiry letter yielded the finding that another letter (from an employee on the Memphis staff) was written about Bowen and an unnamed individual showing flirtatious behavior toward one another during a women's basketball road trip.
Later Wednesday (5/22) the Memphis Commercial Appeal submitted that Bowen told them he "strongly pushed back on" inappropriate behavior while at Memphis.
The University of Memphis would not comment on the stories because they claimed that they "don't comment on personnel matters".
The Memphis Commercial Appeal also added that Bowen is a candidate for the Southern Conference's commissioner position according to a close source.
