Last week Memphis 901 FC signed signed 17-year old forward Nighte Pickering to a multi-year contract, pending league and federation approval. The Birmingham native joined the FC Dallas Academy in 2017 and was a part of the U-15 team that won the 2019 FC Bayern adidas Campus Cup in Munich, Germany. Here's more from Jason Smith on the weekend Pickering had with the rolling 901 FC squad on the pitch:

Monday afternoon Memphis announced another acquisition. This time it's the 25-day contract for Jackson Brady, pending league approval.

A native of Christchurch, New Zealand, Brady was selected as a member of the New Zealand U-23 men’s national team this summer. The defender made three starts to help New Zealand win the Pacific Games in prep for the Olympics.

“We are pleased that Jackson has joined us,”  Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell said. “He has a great pedigree coming up through the New Zealand national team ranks. He is a very talented defender and will give us immediate depth at the full back position.”

Brady appeared in 16 matches as a freshman at the University of Memphis before transferring to Cal Poly, where he started in 16 games and tallied three assists in his senior season in 2021.

Memphis 901 FC will travel to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday, August 13 at 6 p.m. CT.
