Germantown Football Head Coach Gene Robinson's squad dug themselves a 20 to nothing hole. Fortunately for them, they had 26 unanswered to back that up, while stopping Christian Brothers High School the rest of the way on Saturday (8/20) at Germantown High School.
Germantown's Jamarion Morrow had over 50 of Germantown's 150 rushing yards, including this game winning score chronicled by Commercial Appeal/USA Today network reporter Wynston Wilcox:
Morrow is this week's 92.9 FM ESPN 2022 Memphis Metro High School Football Player of the Week. Coach Robinson told the Daily Memphian, “We gave the ball to No. 1 and let him do it. Jamarion Morrow. A sophomore. Power 5 player. Talk about him tomorrow. One more time. Ja Morrow.”
In addition to Germantown's Morrow leading the inaugural 92.9 FM ESPN Player of the Week Honors for Week 1, his Red Devils squad took the top spot in our initial list of Memphis teams "in our mentions".
