Briarcrest Christian School plans to remain in the TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) as fellow Memphis private schools Christian Brothers High School and Memphis University School prepare to leave for high school football only in 2027. MUS and CBHS will likely schedule independent season matchups that can conclude with a "bowl game". The decision would put the longtime rivals on different paths for postseason competition, though they could still schedule games against one another.
