DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys are set to open the NFL's 2021 regular season in prime time, they take on Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the league's annual NFL Kick-Off Game, the team announced.
The NFL Kickoff Game has been in place since 2002, with the defending Super Bowl champions often playing host to the event.
The game, which will kick off on Thursday, September 9 on NBC, will be Tom Brady's first matchup against the Cowboys as a Buccaneer.
Brady last faced the Cowboys in 2019 in New England, with the Patriots winning 13-9 at Gillette stadium.
The remainder of the Cowboys' now 17-game schedule will be revealed on Wednesday night, as Dallas looks to rebound from an injury-plagued 6-10 campaign and make their way back to post-season football.
