Jerry Jones on Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz: "I think they'll play" vs. Commanders

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's looking more and more likely that the Cowboys will get two weapons back on offense this Sunday.

Michael Gallup was a full participant during practice last week, and the expectation from many within the organization was that he’d be able to play against the Giants on Monday Night Football. Ultimately, the receiver decided he needed another week of practice before returning to game action.

“I think I just needed a couple more reps,” Gallup said Wednesday. “I’ve only been in pads twice. Everybody else had a whole training camp and everything like that, so I just needed to feel a couple more things out.”

Gallup will go through two more practices on Friday and Saturday, but all indications are that he'll be ready to go against the Commanders, along with tight end Dalton Schultz, who also sat out last week with a PCL sprain.

"As I sit here, we got more to go this week, but I think they'll play," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan.

"Michael's on a good path. He did everything yesterday. He had a good practice. He had another full week. So I look for Michael to do everything tomorrow and hopefully he'll be active on Sunday," head coach Mike McCarthy said at his media availability Friday.

The Cowboys take on the Commanders at 12 p.m. CT on Sunday. You can listen to the pregame show with Bryan Broaddus and Eric Chiofalo starting at 9 a.m CT on 105.3 The Fan.
