4 days after the top prospect from the Class of '22 (Jalen Duren) committed to the University of Memphis to play basketball, the Memphis sports world turned it's attention to the #2 rated player in the class. Emoni Bates likely will choose between Memphis, Oregon, and the G-League. Some have suggested that decision could happen as soon as this week.
Monday (8/10) on 92.9 FM ESPN's Gary Parrish Show ESPN's Jeff Borzello discussed Emoni Bates, Jalen Duren, and NIL (Name/Image/Likeness rule changes allowing college athletes to promote products, etc. using their likeness for money while they play in college). Borzello, when discussing Bates looking at Memphis said, "I've always been fascinated by how much the shoe stuff matter."
