The Memphis Grizzlies returned to action Saturday night (12/12) on 92.9 FM ESPN in preseason action for 2020-21 winning 107-105 over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Grizzlies looked like a team coming off a strong season that nearly led to a playoff berth led by their Rookie of the Year Ja Morant who had a double-double 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jonas Valanciunas added 13 points and Kyle Anderson contributed 12 points.
Desmond Bane looked like a solid first round pick for the Grizzlies in that role as a much needed wing shooter scoring 12 points off the bench going 4 of 8 for the game and 2 of 3 from the 3-point arc.
The Timberwolves used a stretch run to make the score close at the end, using balanced scoring, including 14 points from D'Angelo Russell, 13 points from Karl Anthony-Towns, and 12 points Malik Beasley. Jaylen Nowell was the surprise of the night for Minnesota scoring 22 points in the loss.
