Using a squad of players familiar to the Memphis Grizzlies system from last year's main Grizzlies rotation, as well as the Memphis Hustle system, the 2021 Utah Summer League Grizzlies destroyed the Utah Jazz Summer Squad 104-65. Much of the game was an experiment with Bane at point guard, along with some exciting summer roster players like Yves Pons working to make a mark. Desmond Bane scored 14 points with 4 rebounds. Xavier Tillman had a double-double 11 points and 13 rebounds. But it was Pons 71% shooting (2/2 from 3-pt & 5/7 FGM/FGA) that really peaked Grizzlies summer fan interest.
