Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis has hired former Christian Brothers High School Head Coach Buster Kelso, starting with the upcoming 2022 season. Chris Mitchell has guided the new Lausanne program for the last 5 years, essentially 4 seasons considering the 2020 COVID shortened season.
Kelso has won more state championships than any other coach in Tennessee history. With over 40 years of experience in the high school game, Coach Kelso has won a state championship in 4 different decades.
Lausanne's home stadium is Gagliano Field in Memphis, which recently won a regional field of the year with the guidance of Mitchell as part of a private public partnership between Lausanne Collegiate School and the City of Memphis. Mitchell/Lausanne maintain the facility.
Mitchell, who played for Kelso, will "co-coach" the the Lausanne Collegiate School Baseball program.
