The Memphis Grizzlies came painfully close at the Chase Center, only to see the Golden State Warriors snatch a 114–113 victory Monday night. Down by double digits in the second half, the Grizzlies threatened to pull off the upset on the road but couldn’t close it out in the final seconds.
Memphis built momentum with a balanced attack, led by Ty Jerome with an efficient 19 points in 20 minutes along with hard work from a deep rotation, but Golden State rallied late behind a clutch go-ahead layup from Gui Santos with 19 seconds remaining. The Warriors, despite turnovers and a shaky stretch where they allowed Memphis to pull ahead, capitalized when it mattered most.
In the "Battle of the Spencer Brothers", Cam Spencer finished with just 2 points in 24 minutes off the bench for the Grizzlies & Pat Spencer had 17 points in 32 minutes for Golden State.
