It was a fantasy night return for Ja Morant as the Memphis Grizzlies got their seventh win of the season. Morant returned from his 25-game NBA-issued suspension to drop 34 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and two steals on the New Orleans Pelicans. Wow. What a return right? Here's how it sounded on 92.9 FM ESPN:
Here's how the last second shot looked on TNT's national broadcast:
TNT's Greg Anthony will join Brad Carson and JR Moore live at 12:35 p.m. on Wednesday to discuss the game.
Outside of Morant, it wasn't too far off what we've come to expect in these first 25 game of the 2023-24 season. But Grizzlies stars Jaren Jackson and Desmond Bane held their own, especially in crunch time, scoring 24 points and 21 points respectively to keep the Grizzlies within striking distance at the end. But it was Morant, the closer and "dawg", who saved the day Tuesday night.
The Grizzlies overcame a big night from Brandon Ingram who scored 34 points in the loss.
Now Memphis will return for a big night on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. on 92.9 FM ESPN as they host the Indiana Pacers in Ja Morant's first home game of the season. Live coverage and play-by-play here on 92.9 FM ESPN, Flagship Home of the Memphis Grizzlies.
