Huff Named Bear Bryant National Coach of the Week

HOUSTON – University of Memphis head coach Charles Huff has been named the Bear Bryant National Coach of the Week after leading the Tigers to a comeback victory over UNLV in his Memphis debut.

In his first game with the Tigers, Huff’s squad came back from a 14-7 halftime deficit with explosive offensive plays through the air from Marcus Stokes to Stonka Burnside and on the ground with Jaylin Carter.

His Memphis defense, featuring a large constituent of Southern Miss transfers, took over in the second half, sacking UNLV quarterback Jackson Arnold six times throughout the game and helping Memphis outscore the Rebels 20-7 in the second half. In the win, defensive ends Elijah Kinsler and J’Mond Tapp anchored the defensive line with 2.5 and 1.0 sacks, respectively, with Tapp also being named the Shrine Bowl Defensive Player of the Week.

Huff became the first head coach in program history to win his debut game on the road with the Tigers’ win over RV/RV UNLV.

For the 2026 season, Memphis will implement tiered pricing for single-game tickets:

Tier 1: Army – starting at $25

Tier 2: UAB, Arkansas State, East Carolina – starting at $20

Tier 3: UT Martin, Temple – starting at $15

Fans are encouraged to purchase early and save. Ticket prices will increase by $5 during game week and again by an additional $5 on gameday at the Box Office. This change helps support enhanced planning for security, concessions and staffing.

Single-game tickets purchased in the West Side Chairbacks will include access to Landers Plaza.

For fans seeking flexibility, the Memphis Football Mini Plan gives the option to choose any three games that best fit your schedule, starting at just $60.

Similar to last year, Memphis Athletics will be asking fans to cover the Shelby County sales tax rate of 9.75 percent on all tickets and parking.
