FULL INTERVIEW: Tigers Legend Joey Dorsey announced retirement on J&J Show, discussed time at Memphis, Calipari & more

Memphis Tigers Basketball legend and former NBA player Joey Dorsey joined the Jason & John Show on Thursday (12/1) and announced his retirement from professional basketball. After playing college hoops at Memphis, Dorsey went on to be the 33rd overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Houston Rockets. Dorsey spent time during his professional career with Houston, Toronto, and several years in European leagues.

During his interview with Jason & John on 92.9 FM ESPN Dorsey told several stories including one about how Bob Huggins, who coached against Dorsey at Cincinnati, told Joey he controlled and entire game "without scoring a point". Dorsey also opened up about his time as a teammate with Derrick Rose in '07-'08 as the team empowered Rose to take on more of a dominate role. Dorsey said he stays in close contact with former Memphis Coach John Calipari and former teammate Antonio Anderson.

Dorsey told Jason & John he plans on spending some time coaching and mentoring the next generation of players, including time at Memphis with Penny and the current team.
