Memphis falls short against Mizzou in the Lou

ST. LOUIS – The University of Memphis Football team fell in a hard-fought game on the road in St. Louis at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis to Missouri, 34-27.

Offensively, quarterback Seth Henigan completed 31-of-47 passes for a 316 yards and two scores, while running back Blake Watson racked up 130 total yards, rushing 18 times for 47 yards and catching a team-high nine balls for 83 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Roc Taylor posted his first 100-yard receiving game, totaling seven receptions for 143 yards.

Defensively, linebacker Geoffrey Cantin-Arku had eight tackles and a forced fumble, while defensive back Greg Rubin had eight stops, 0.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup. Both Cincir Evans and Keveion'ta Spears had sacks on the night.

The Memphis Tigers will return home to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium to host Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 30. The game is slated for a 3 p.m. start and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
