The AP Top 25 college football rankings for Sunday (10/12) reflect a significant shakeup following a tumultuous Week 7. Eight ranked teams suffered losses, including three previously unbeaten squads, leading to a reshuffled leaderboard.

Ohio State and Miami maintained their positions at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Indiana achieved its highest-ever ranking, moving up to No. 3 after a decisive 30-20 victory over Oregon. Texas A&M climbed to No. 4, marking its best regular-season ranking in 30 years, while Ole Miss rounded out the top five. Notably, Texas re-entered the poll at No. 21 following a commanding 23-6 win over Oklahoma. USC, Utah, Cincinnati, and Nebraska also returned to the rankings, while Michigan, Florida State, Illinois, Arizona State, and Iowa State fell out. Memphis is No. 22 while conference foe South Florida is up to No. 19 after their dominate win over previously undefeated North Texas.
