PURE Youth Memphis' Tevin Carter has committed to play football next season at the University of Memphis. 92.9 FM ESPN's John Martin reported that Carter will likely enroll for the winter/spring semester to join the team early.
Carter said his commitment was based on them having "everything he needs right here" and it was part of a "dream" he recently had that signaled he needed to come to Memphis.
Most surprising in the interview was Carter's swag and confidence. Carter said, "Grant got two year. I don't really see too much competition in the quarterback room. I think I can compete for the starting job when I come in."
