A remarkable baseball journey has reached the Major Leagues for Lewisburg High School standout Rudy Martin Jr. The Toronto Blue Jays called up the 30-year-old Friday (9/11), giving Martin his long-awaited opportunity in Major League Baseball after 12 years in professional baseball.

Martin was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 25th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Lewisburg. His journey has included stops in the Royals, Nationals, Orioles and independent baseball organizations. This season, Martin has hit .274 with 11 home runs, 40 RBIs and 45 stolen bases. Now, the Lewisburg product is officially a Major Leaguer.
