Orchard Park (WGR550) - The Buffalo Bills Foundation and NFL Foundation announced Wednesday that they have teamed up to donate a combined $400,000 to support the residents and community directly impacted by the mass shooting on the city's East Side last Saturday.
According to a press release by the club, as well as NFL Communications, $200,000 will go to the Buffalo Together Community Response Fund, which has been set up to address the immediate and long-term needs in the community, including systematic issues that have marginalized communities of color.
Additionally, according to the release, the other $200,000 will be donated directly from the Buffalo Bills Foundation to various nonprofits working on emergency response efforts to address immediate needs of Buffalo's East Side residents.
On Wednesday morning, Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits players arrived at the Top's Supermarket on Jefferson Avenue, the site of last week's shooting, to volunteer in the response effort, and help serve lunch to the community.
