Jimbo Fisher will be a legend forever thanks to his buyout exit from Texas A&M. Fisher has already earned $45-million dollars from Texas A&M. His exit buyout, per his contract, will pay him an additional $77-million dollars WITH ZERO OFFSET against future earnings and coaching jobs.
It's a historic buyout from an average football program that was supposed to be good due to Name, Image, and Likeness deals used to secure top-ranked recruiting classes in College Station over the last 3 years. A&M was so confident he'd bring a National Championship to the college that they presented him with a blank plaque dated 20--. Whoops.
The obvious next question, besides how is Jimbo going to spend the money, becomes 'who will they hire?' at Texas A&M to coach the Aggies. Some possibilities include: Mike Elko - Duke head coach, Lane Kiffin - Ole Miss head coach, Mike Norvell - Florida State head coach, Dan Lanning - Oregon head coach, Kalen DeBoer - Washington head coach, Lane Leipold - Kansas head coach and yes, Urban Meyer - Fox Commentator.
