J&J Show: Ole Miss' win for the ages over LSU

J&J opened their show on Monday (9/21) discussing the NFL weekend and the wild Saturday night in Oxford.

• No. 8 Ole Miss knocked off No. 7 LSU, 32-24, Saturday night in Oxford, improving to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the SEC.
• Trinidad Chambliss was the difference: 33-of-48 passing for 363 yards and 2 TDs, plus the decisive fourth-quarter rushing touchdown.
• Ole Miss jumped on LSU early, building a 17-0 lead and taking a 24-7 advantage into halftime. Chambliss threw first-half TD passes to Traylon Ray and Deuce Alexander.
• LSU stormed back with 17 unanswered points. Sam Leavitt scored on a 4-yard run and connected with former Ole Miss receiver Winston Watkins Jr. for a 26-yard TD, before Scott Starzyk's field goal tied it 24-24 early in the fourth.
• With the game tied, Chambliss directed a 13-play, 75-yard drive and finished it himself with a 14-yard TD run. JT Lindsey added the two-point conversion for a 32-24 lead with 6:14 remaining.
• LSU drove all the way to the Ole Miss 6-yard line on its final possession, but Kam Franklin deflected Sam Leavitt's fourth-down pass and Jaylon Braxton intercepted it in the end zone to seal the win.
• Traylon Ray had a huge night: 7 catches for 115 yards and a touchdown, including a 36-yard reception that helped set up Ole Miss' first TD.
• Ole Miss finished with a 426-330 advantage in total offense and dominated through the air, 363 passing yards to LSU's 158.
• LSU did have success running the football. Dilin Jones rushed for 106 yards and a TD, while Leavitt added 63 rushing yards and a score.
• Kewan Lacy scored Ole Miss' first touchdown but left the game in the third quarter with a left shoulder injury.
• The victory gave Ole Miss back-to-back wins over LSU and spoiled Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford as LSU's head coach.
• The win also pushed Ole Miss from No. 8 to No. 4 in the new AP Top 25.
