The Hall of Fame shortstop announced Tuesday morning on KMOX a celebration at Ballpark Village -- February 17, 2022 -- featuring the entire '82 Cardinals infield: Keith Hernandez (1B), Tommy Herr (2B), Smith (SS) and Ken Oberkfell (3B).

Hernandez and Smith won a combined 24 Gold Gloves in their Major League careers.

"I don't think people talk about it as much as it should be talked about," Smith said. "But that was probably -- certainly, for me -- one of the best infields ever assembled."

The architect of that team, Hall of Fame manager Whitey Herzog, will also be in attendance for the event at Bally Sports Live. Joe Buck, the voice of Fox Sports, will serve as special guest host.

Joe's father, Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck, called the final out of the 1982 World Series.

"It should be a fun evening," Smith said, "to have a chance to reminisce about some good times."

Tickets are $100 for general admission and available at http://www.ozzieandfriends.com.

All proceeds will benefit PGA Reach Gateway. Smith serves as president of the organization, which helps keep kids in North St. Louis in school, making the game of golf more accessible to children, while also helping disabled veterans reintegrate into society.
