ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty has been known to sport some pretty wild baseball cleats, but his latest might be the best yet.

The 25-year-old ace, who will make the Opening Day start on Thursday, shared photos and videos of his new shoes that are tributes to late Cardinals legends Bob Gibson and Lou Brock:

The cleats appear to have been designed by the Kickasso clothing brand.

It's unclear if Flaherty will be wearing these when he takes the mound in Cincinnati, but there's a good chance he will. In the past, he's worn cleats to honor "Black Panther" star Chadwick Boseman, his friend and MLB pitcher Tyler Skaggs, and many of the Black men and women who were killed by police officers.

Gibson and Brock died in 2020, both are two of the greatest MLB players of all time and most beloved people in St. Louis history.
