The vibes were good around the City of Memphis after the University of Memphis secured a matching donation of $50-Million dollars from Fred Smith working with Mayor Strickland, as chronicled on Tuesday (11/21) on 92.9 FM ESPN. This sets in motion the renovation projects for Autozone Park and more for FedExForum.

But Redbirds GM Craig Unger and the Memphis Redbirds/901 FC aren't happy. Here's the statement they released late Tuesday expressing frustration about being left out of the most recent plans.

Mayor Strickland expressed his own disappointment that there isn't enough money to dedicate more to AutoZone Park, while pointing out that the City of Memphis recently provided $6-Million for a brand new score board and other amenities for the Redbirds downtown. More coverage live Wednesday (11/22) on 92.9 FM ESPN.
