ST. LOUIS, MO., March 25, 2026 – The St. Louis Cardinals will begin their 135th season of play in the National League tomorrow (March 26) when they host the Tampa Bay Rays at 3:15 p.m. CDT in the season opening game of the 162-game Major League Baseball regular season. The Opening Day festivities begin at 1:35 p.m. on 790 AM The Bet throughout Memphis and the Mid-South.
The team announced this morning that rookie infielder JJ Wetherholt had his contract selected from Memphis (AAA). In addition, outfielder Lars Nootbaar (bilateral Haglund’s Deformity excision) was placed on the 60-day Injured List and right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins (right knee ACL reconstruction-rehab) was placed on the 15-day Injured list, retroactive to March 22.
The team’s 26-player active roster includes seven first-time Cardinals and 18 players who were developed within the Cardinals organization.
The following is the Cardinals 2026 Opening Day active roster and injured list:
