As head coach of the Jets, Saleh inherited a team that ranked 32nd in defense in 2020. Within two seasons, New York jumped to No. 4 in total defense in 2022, allowing 311.1 yards per game, and finished No. 1 against the pass, giving up just 180.1 passing yards per game. The Jets also improved from 29th to 7th in points allowed during that span.
For the Titans, who have struggled defensively in recent seasons, those numbers matter. This hire isn’t about buzz, it’s about production.
