If Braves lose NL East, it's their own fault

The Atlanta Braves bullpen blew another fantastic start by Dallas Keuchel in a 5-4 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night.

And it all went wrong in the eighth inning when Anthony Swarzak and Wes Parsons combined to turn a 2-2 game into a 5-2 game affair. With the trade deadline a week away (July 31), there's a serious concern with the Braves bullpen.

"If in the next seven days, the Braves don't make a serious adjustment to their bullpen and add another starting pitcher, than it's not going to be nearly as easy to get done this season what they want to get done," Andy Bunker said talking about the postseason.

While the Braves still hold a 5 1/2 game lead over the Washington Nationals in the NL East, the offense can't continue to bail the bullpen out.

"If the Braves lose the NL East, it's because it's their fault. It ain't nothing special that the Nationals did or the Phillies are going to do. It's all on them," Randy McMichael said.
