Shane Greene was traded from the Detroit Tigers to the Atlanta Braves right at the trade deadline and was supposed to come here and lock down the closer role that Luke Jackson had been the placeholder for.
92-9 The Game's Braves Insider Joe Patrick believes that the two outings he blew weren't the same and that it's not time to panic just yet.
"They were two different situations. Yesterday was a microcosm of how the Braves bullpen has been this season, bullpen kept you in it until the closer came up. He said Saturday he got unlucky, and that's true," says Patrick. "But (on Sunday) he threw a home run pitch and he was very upset after the game. He's so new, so fresh, you just have to roll with the punches."
Patrick continues... "When you look at what the Braves did at the trade deadline, you can't really look at these last two performances from Shane Greene and start criticizing the moves that have been made. They've done everything that they can."
