Atlanta Braves Analyst for Fox Sports Paul Byrd joined Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to talk about the latest with the Atlanta Braves.
Byrd on tradable pieces on this Braves roster, “Talking with Anthopolous (Braves GM Alex Anthopolous) he said everyone is tradable. I’ll do a deal with anybody. Here is one of the problems. Out of the top ten free agent bullpen signings this off-season, eight of them have an ERA over 5.00. Guys that are pitching now have to step up.”
Byrd when asked how deflating it is to watch a bullpen blow a lead, “I kept it real when I played and would be very very honest. When I hand the ball off to a reliever and I gave up six runs I don’t want him thinking I don’t have any chance at a save or a hold. So guys don’t think about that stuff too much.”
Byrd continued, “Every time you lose a game now, you have to win two in September.”
Byrd also talked about Ender Inciarte’s struggles and his Kentucky Derby picks for this weekend.
