If the Niner's could control the line of scrimmage against the Packers the way they did against the Vikings, there was no way they were going to lose. It's amazing what happens when you win the battle at the line of scrimmage. That's what the Niner's have that the Falcons don't. Great line of scrimmage play. Wherever the referee sets the ball down, if your best players are close to the football, you're going to win.
There is no way you can spend capital in the first round of the draft without addressing the pass rush. It is far and away the biggest need for the Falcons.
The O-line is set for the most part, but you HAVE to find someone to sack the QB in the first round.
In the NFL you win games by running the ball effectively in short-yardage situations, and sacking the other teams' QB. You can keep the chains moving for your offense, and make the other teams' play calling predictable.
The Falcons may not have enough capital to move up from 16 to 2 in order to grab Chase Young without spending picks next year. But maybe they should.
