Schraeder, an undrafted free agent, was picked up by the Falcons in 2013. He signed a five-year, $34 million contract extension in 2016 and was slated to make $6.25 million in 2019.

After starting all 16 games at right tackle for the Falcons in 2016, Schraeder started 14 games in 2017, missing two games due to a concussion. Schraeder struggled mightily in the 2018 season and was benched for Ty Sambrailo in the team's final four games.
