Atlanta United Radio Analyst Jason Longshore joined Dukes & Bell to discuss the team’s loss in the CONCACAF Champions League last night against Herediano 2-1.

Jason talked about the team looking disjointed and what might have attributed to that.

“Disjointed is a good way to put it. This is a situation where Atlanta United played their first game of the season against a team who is playing their tenth,” Longshore said. “This is a team in Herediano that hasn’t played very well this year, and they had their backs against the wall and responded.”

Longshore said that the loss didn’t feel as bad as the scoreboard might have read.

“More than anything here when you have this type of possession, you have to show a little more patience than the United showed. Especially in the first half, because in the second half, they started to show more patience. This game to me didn’t feel like a 3-1 loss with the performance they put in. I thought they had some bad luck, but I want to see more crispness next week.”

When asked how the five stripes can turn this around on Thursday.

“Last night you could not get punished in the first 15 minutes--you did, and you saw how that played out. You have to come out and get an early goal on Thursday and, if you do, I think that lack of confidence for Herediano comes out, and you could get a good result.”
