Atlanta United President Darren Eales joined Dukes & Bell to talk about last night’s game, Brandon Vazquez and penalty kicks.

Darren talked about last night’s game.

“20 seconds in that’s not what you want starting the game.” Eales said “And then at 2 all, you say a draw isn’t the worst thing, I can’t commentate but when the home tv analyst says it’s a dive then it says something and then we get the call then miss the penalty kick.

Eales said the team had opportunities last night.

“We did have the opportunities.” Eales said “I thought Brandon for not finishing with a goal had a great game, he had a great ball where he just put it past the goal. It was a strange game because of the players we had out, in the second half we moved Pity into a true number 10 role and Gressel played primarily defense it was just a shame we couldn’t get a point out of it.”

Darren said he felt good with Pity taking the PK.

“It is different, I’ve never seen it where a game ended and then it took about four minutes before they got the VAR award and I think those are difficult circumstances. Eales said “People do miss penalties, Miggy missed a penalty against Houston last year, Josef misses penalties, I felt pretty good it was Pity taking it but look it’s one of those things he put it over, you can’t get it back so you just have to forget about it.”
